When the official Pantone colorS for 2016 were announced, I was a bit unsure. Marsala the year prior was such a win & I wore it nonstop. Was I really going to do the same with Rose Quartz & Serenity shades? Turns out I like these colors more than I thought. When I looked in my closet, I realized I owned quite a few pieces of clothing and accessories in each of these pastels. Read on for 3 easy ways to style these shades.
Monochrome - You all must know by now that I love a monochrome look. Wearing Serenity from head to toe sounds scary, but a pale blue sweater & my light jeans made it super easy to wear. Want to style Rose Quartz from head to toe? Try a jumpsuit - I love this one!
Mix & Match - The great thing about these shades is that they are both light pastel shades, so they create lovely feminine outfits when paired together. I have seen a ton of dresses that include the two shades - this one is on my wishlist for spring.
Accessorize - If you're still unsure about these Pantone colors, invest in an accessory in the shade of your favorite one. Both shades are perfect for the upcoming spring season & are feminine enough to be paired with all of your spring/summer dresses. If you are loving Rose Quartz, I am a huge fan of the blush shade that Kate Spade bags come in and absolutely adore these wedges. If you're more of a Serenity fan, try a Rebecca Minkoff bag or these great sandals for under $100!

I was glad to see Rose Quartz and Serenity as the colors of the year. I think it is because pink and blue are my favorite colors, so its a automatic win for me! I wear my rose quartz sweaters with my black skirts and of course boots. But for spring I think I try wearing them with lighter colors like my light denim skirts and of course flats and sandals. I love how you styled your serenity top and bag with your flared jeans!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are going to be right on trend for spring! They are perfect colors for warmer weather!

I am so glad these pretty pastels were chosen as the colors of 2016 as I love them. Your monochromatic serenity look is gorgeous. The mixed media sweater and your bag are so pretty as are the mirrored sunnies. Love that you went with bell bottom jeans to match the peplum sweater. Great tips too. Both you and Ana Luiza rock these colors!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well, Michelle. Happy Monday!

I looove the rose quartz because well, that's just a fancy name for blush! :) I haven't delved into the serenity color too much because I rarely wear blue - but I love this look! That top is too cute and looks super comfy!

Totally - I don't know that I will actually ever get used to called this shade 'rose quartz.' It's always been blush in my book!

So I'm rather in love with this ensemble, Michelle. That must be the most endearing shade of blue ever xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you! Such a sweet compliment!
DeleteThis is seriously gorgeous!! I love all the blue :)
ReplyDeletewww.maggiealamode.com
Love your sweater! I wouldn't have any problems creating a head-to-toe pale blue outfit, but I couldn't do a pink one, unless it was summer and I added all my pink garments at once!
ReplyDeleteProbably because we are still in the middle of winter here in Norway, I'm still all about rich deep colours and lots of layers. Spring should hurry up, though. I've had it with this snow!
Anett | Tall Girl's Fashion
I know the feeling. We had a long winter over here too! I love the idea of wearing pink from head to toe in the spring/summer! Sounds so pretty
DeleteI have a lot of blush in my closet, but not the pale blue. I just love your bag and that top is gorgeous, too!

I do like the monochrome look as it's not something anyone can pull. Blue can be quite striking when it's all over but I have to admit, you pulled it off very well.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you. Wearing light jeans helped to simplify this look a bit & made it much easier to wear this shade from head to toe.
DeleteI like to wear this year's colors with white jeans!
