While I won't be attending Coachella or any other music festival this year, I never pass up a chance to dress for an occasion, especially when it involves boho styles.  When you think of music festivals, you often picture lots of denim, lots of fringe & lots of loud prints.  Today I'm showing you how you can take those typical festival trends and slightly alter them to easily wear festival styles in real life.

When dressing in 'festival styles,' think flowy and free spirited.  Nothing is too structured or too fitted.  American Eagle's latest collection is currently filled of the BEST boho inspired pieces for spring. By taking the stereotypical music festival trends & simply toning them down a bit, these trends can easily be worn for real life occasions.  As mentioned above, I hear "music festival" and picture lots of denim, fringe, fedoras, prints & flower crowns.  All of these trends can be worn day to day (well, except maybe flower crowns), but pairing them together can be tricky & can go from stylish to costume-y if you aren't careful.

The easiest trick to pulling off festival styles in real life is to focus on ONE trend as your main piece and use a few others as accents.  While shopping at American Eagle last weekend, these joggers caught my eye right away - I loved the tribal print and the boho vibes.  I let these pants act as the main focus of my look and added a touch of fringe, a layer of denim and a fedora to finish off my look.  My white tee shirt & bucket bag gave the look a modern feel.
