dresslink plaid blanket scarf

Earlier this week, I mentioned how much I love cold weather accessories; today I'm sharing another must have winter accessory: the blanket scarf.   Blanket scarves are not only great for freezing temps (they expertly block the wind & cold air) but these chunky scarves also are a great statement piece.  Add a blanket scarf on top of a basic look and your outfit is transformed. Read on to learn 4 ways that I style a single blanket scarf!

1. Infinity Style: If your scarf isn't a true infinity scarf like the one I am wearing today, simply knot opposite ends of the scarf & wrap around your neck a few times.  Make sure the knot is hidden under the layers at the back of your neck.  No one will know the difference!

2. Tossed Over One Shoulder: A super simple, effortless styling of a blanket scarf is to roll it up & toss it over one shoulder.  This styling takes only a few seconds & upgrades any outfit.

3. Wrapped around the Neck: Probably the most common way to wear a blanket scarf is to wrap it around your neck.  For this cozy styling, start with the scarf folded into a triangle shape and then wrap it over & around your neck.  Tuck the ends under the front piece or leave them out for a more undone look.

4. As a Cape: This styling is super simple also. Again, start with your blanket scarf in a triangle shape, but this time drape the scarf around your shoulders like a shawl. This style is great for extra cold days since it almost acts like another layer of clothing.
