Some days I have the luxury of thinking up an awesome outfit, perfectly curling my hair & sitting down to have breakfast. Other mornings I wake up late & need to be out the door ASAP. The latter seems to be happening more often lately - I blame it on the cold weather making it impossible get out of bed in the morning. Luckily, I've come up with a few fail proof tips to help myself get out the door in 5 minutes (10 at most...).
1. Find a uniform. We all have an outfit that we love, wear on repeat and feel our best in - this is what I call your 'uniform.' For me, my uniform is a pair of skinny jeans, a chunky heel and a looser fitting top. These are the types of pieces that I always end up wearing when I get stuck with what to wear. When you don't have time to dig through your closet looking for something to wear, pick items that fit your uniform - this will save lots of time but also ensure that you feel comfortable in what you wear for the day.
2. Stick to classics/neutrals. Last minute mornings are not the time to start trying out tricky trends or playing with new color palettes. Your best bet is to stick to classic shapes & neutral shades - think black, white, camel, grey, etc. I opted for black jeans and black booties with a crisp white top. It doesn't get more classic than that! A leopard pocket added a bit of fun to my look.
3. Dry shampoo & a red lip! No time to do your hair? Spray some dry shampoo at the roots and let it soak into your hair while you get dressed, before you head out the door, brush through! If you only have time to apply make up to one part of your face, add a red lip. It instantly makes you look glam and brightens up your whole face.
