Hi guys. I am Ada, the blogger (and mom) behind Elegance and Mommyhood, a blog on my every-day style as a mom and busy housewife, and a few office outfits every now and then. My daughter Vivian is 3 and a half and she is my special guest on my blog often. I am so glad the lovely Michelle has me guest post for her today as her blog is a favorite of mine and I visit it at least 2-3 times a week. Her style is flawless!

Since summer isn't over (despite what the fashion magazines and NYFW says) I wanted to pay a style tribute to one of my all-time summer favorites - the little white dress. I own many LWDs and have worn several this summer. They are light, airy, breezy and summer perfection. Plus, dresses, are my most favorite item of clothing, ever. So let me take a look back at (part of) my collection of little white dresses for the summer. I can see most of these transition into fall, too...

Dress: Ann Taylor
Probably my favorite LWD that I purchased this summer. This is perfect because it is a popover shirt dress style, with an A-line midi skirt, the nicest, most comfortable breezy poplin cotton material and the best part - the back. The top back of the dress is all in eyelet.

Dress: ASTR (Nordstrom)
This dress is actually a cream color or off-white, but it still falls under the LWD category. The dress itself has a bohemian feel with the lace detail in the front and the bell sleeves. So I played the bohemian factor by pairing it with my fringe block heel sandals and a crochet bag, all in the off-white/cream family.

Dress: Xhilaration (Target)
This is one of the first white dresses I wore this summer. It is in an off-the-shoulder style and my lovely daughter Vivian is matching me in her own off-the-shoulder white dress. This dress has some crochet around the hem and it paired so well with those light beige/nude espadrille wedge sandals. Add a long cardigan in brown, camel, gray, black, navy or honey and this dress would be perfect to transition to fall.

Dress: Xhilaration (Target)
I think in your collection of white dresses, you should have a maxi. This one is in a light and comfy gauze material and the chest area is embroidered in light tan/gold. In the original post you will see that I styled it with a very cozy, over-sized light tan cardigan. The red accessories added some bright color pops and the lace up style of my flats and the layered necklaces, made this look a little bohemian.

Dress: Who What Wear (Target)
I originally saw this dress on another blogger and loved it. I finally found a Target that sells WhoWhatWear and purchased it without even trying it on. I am wearing a small, by the way, and it is the perfect fit. The dress has 3/4-sleeves and beautiful delicate ruffles horizontally. The way I styled it with my shearling collared denim jacket (also by Target) is a great way to transition it into fall. Also you can swap the camel flat-form wedges for camel booties to make it more fall appropriate.

Dress: The Limited
I love adding cute sneakers to my LWD when I want to go for a casual sporty look. These sneakers are in a dark indigo denim. Adding the red cross body mini bag also added to the casual mom-on-the-go outfit I needed that day. Plus red, white and blue is always American.

Dress: Sami+Dani
If you buy a LWD, make your first one an eyelet one. An eyelet white dress is pretty much the definition of summer, fashion-wise. Now this one has a mosaic-patterned eyelet design on the bottom hem, the sleeves and on the hem of the top part (since it is an overlay style). I wore this recently to work with pops of color: fuchsia and teal, and got a lot of compliments. Because of the longer sleeves, the dress will be easy to wear September thru November. Try it with a denim jacket, a BF cardigan, a black moto jacket or a camel leather jacket. For shoes try it with knee-high boots, desert booties or wedge suede booties.

Thank you to Michelle for having me today.
I hope all of you liked my Summer LWD style.

I invite you all over to my blog Elegance and Mommyhood. I also run a style linkup on Thursdays so I welcome you to join it. =)

Until next time,
Ada
