Even though I am enjoying some warmer weather now, New York and lots of the US is still experiencing winter temperatures, so I thought it would be timely to share some of my must have coats.



Puffer Coat: A down coat is a necessity for a New Yorker in the cold winter months.  I have a simple black North Face puffer coat, which isn't the most exciting, but it is certainly the warmest. It's belted shape & large hood are perfect for freezing conditions. Recently, with the constant polar vortexes that have been occurring, I have noticed some bright colored down coats, which are so much more fun yet keep you just as warm.

Leather jJacket: Leather is my all time favorite type of jacket. Nowadays, they are all so detailed with zippers, studs, fringe & other fun details.  A leather jacket adds edge & toughness to any outfit.  I love pairing mine with a feminine dress for a juxtaposed look.


Trench Coat: A trench coat is perfect for rainy days as well as spring & autumn days when there is a slight chill in the air.  This classic piece looks great paired over a dress, skirt or jeans.  It is truly timeless.

Denim Jacket: My favorite jacket for summer time.  My denim jacket probably gets the most use out of all of my outerwear, since it seems, the more times I wear it the softer and better look it gets.  A cropped style is perfect for tossing on over a sundress.


Fur Coat: Ok, so this one is not totally necessary, but there are so many fun faux-fur coats these days, why wouldn't you add one of these to your closet?  Confession: I own two; a beige teddy bear fur coat & a fur leopard coat.  Both keep me totally toasty & I feel so glamorous when I put them on.
