Today's post is all about accentuating that summer glow that I hope most of you have achieved by now (safely of course!). There is no compliment that I love more during the summers than 'you look so tan!' Color is one of the ways that I've found can really help make that glow pop. Read on for the top 3 shades to wear to make you look tan...
1. White. This is an obvious one. Since it is the lightest of all colors, there is no shade better at showing off a tan than a crisp, bright white shade. I love incorporating white into my summer looks and even extend white and off white shades into my accessories. My white backpack by Rebecca Minkoff has been on repeat for the summer.
2. Citrus Shades - Yellow, orange, marigold are bold, saturated shades that will enhance your glow. The warm golden shade of this tank is perfection against my tan skin and the slightly darker yellow color is such a flattering shade on all skin tones.
3. Ocean & Sky Shades - This one is a wild card, but bright shades of blue/aqua that mimic the sky or ocean are super flattering and actually enhance your glow. My shorts have a bunch of shades of light blues & coral which made them great for enhancing my tan. Plus - how cute are they?! I love the pom pom hem!

Have a great weekend!

This is a fun & summery outfit, Michelle! But, I probably don't ever look tan anymore---ha ha! And it's okay---I've been trying to embrace my whiteness (it's just too bad I wasn't born in the 1800's)

ReplyDeleteBefore I even read this post, I agree that those are exactly the same colors I would chose to show off a tan. For me, neon colors as well WS mint/aqua and a bright turquoise do it too. I know yellow is your favorite color and I love how it looks with the cute blue pom pom shorts. Yellow is my second favorite color.
ReplyDeleteYes! Neons are a given! Those always look great with a tan! I couldn't resist the bright yellow in this post :)
