While I love not melting when I walk outside & getting to layer my outfits, the colder weather comes with some cons as well, such as dry skin & hair. Flakes from your scalp can make a gal feel so self conscious but did you know excessive washing can actually take away your scalp's nutrients and moisture making it even more dry? I'm getting a jump on caring for my hair this season by implementing some tips into my routine which gets rid of dandruff and also leaves my hair looks smooth and healthy!

1. Get regular trims...I know, my long haired girls are probably gasping at the idea of a haircut right now, but one of the keys to healthier hair is trimming off those dead ends. Visit the salon at least once every 2-3 months and ask for a 'dusting' on your ends; with this request, your stylist won't cut your length, only the damage, leaving your hair extra smooth and shiny.

2. I have been using Dove Dermacare Anti Dandruff shampoo & conditioner for only a couple of weeks now but I already notice a different since I have been using it regularly. My hair seems smoother and easier to manage, I love the scent (hello coconut & shea butter) and my scalp isn't itchy or dry!

3. Wear a hat! A tip that I got a few years ago from my hair stylist was to protect your hair from the wind/cold by literally hiding it under a hood or hat. It has helped so much with breakage and dryness during the fall/winter months, plus wearing hats & hoodies is just another way to create a cute outfit!

Remember ladies, with regular use, there's no need to compromise when it comes to flake free and nourished hair in the cooler months.
