PASTEL SPRING SWEATER FROM STITCH FIX


Sharing a spring outfit! Hooray! The weather has been so nice lately - sunny, 60's. Love it. I wore this outfit over the weekend for a family brunch to celebrate my sister's birthday. I got this sweater in my last Stitch Fix box & I'm obsessed with the pastel color & how soft the material is. It's also lightweight enough to be worn in the spring. I paired it with these trouser pants from Old Navy. I originally bought these pants in black and loved them so much, I went back for the striped pair. They are so comfy but look put together for work or weekends.

FALL WEEKEND UNIFORM



Wore this casual look over the weekend while running errands and having dinner with Jody. This is such a typical fall weekend outfit for me - lots of basics. Jeans, a striped top, leather jacket and booties. I like to think of it as a uniform when I don't want to think about having to get dressed but want an outfit that I know will look cool and put together.

I live for cute summer shorts in the summer! They add a bit of excitement to an otherwise boring outfit, making the look anything but boring! I wore this outfit on Friday during my day off from work meeting with our florist & stationer for our wedding and for a family dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday! (Saturday & Sunday's outfits were basically versions of this outfit too, if I'm being honest haha)

We made it to Friday. I swear Monday & Tuesday alone felt like an entire week to me this week. Things have been so busy and I just feel like there aren't quite enough hours in the day. So TGIF! Although I have a busy weekend planned with lots of errands - I have to get a dress altered for a wedding that I'm in, I'm going to visit with my grandma, J & I may go look at new cars & I have more appts to continue to look at wedding invitations! Tell me I'm not the only one who has a ton on her plate right now! 

For weekends as busy as this one, a no fuss outfit is key. I usually opt for some version of jeans & sneakers with an oversized top or sweater. This time around, it's my Stan Smith sneakers and a striped dolman top.

Here's to hoping this is one of the last sweater posts of this season. We had such strange weather last week - one day was 70 degrees(!!!), then it got super cold again & this weekend we got SO much rain. I'm questioning what to wear each morning more than ever...anyone else?! Mother Nature, let's just officially welcome in springtime, k?

SWITCH UP YOUR LOOK WITH TIGHTS


I bought this skirt last weekend while at LOFT with my girlfriend & as I was trying it on & brainstorming ways to style it, she was like "This skirt would make a great blog post!! How to wear a skirt in the fall!" SO here I am, taking that idea and running with it. (Thanks Bri!) 
 

When the weather gets cold, & I mean really cold, I end up throwing on jeans & a sweater everyday.  But fall is my favorite type of weather because the weather is so temperate. I can wear a sweater one day & a dress the next. I can play with layering & fall accessories for styling purposes more than for warmth! So when it came to styling this skirt for fall, my mind went in a million different directions: should I pair it with a sweater? OTK boots? a leather jacket? All of these styling ideas are fantastic (& will most likely be worn at some point later on!) but on this particular day, I wanted to accessorize my skirt with a pair of fun tights. 



Not only are Berkshire tights great quality, they also have a ton of fun prints. Of course I have classic pairs of solid black, but I also have polka dots, diamonds & stripes! They are such a fun way to accessorize a fall outfit! I love the way printed tights act as an entirely new element in an outfit. With bare legs, this outfit may have been borderline pretty but the tights totally make it edgier. I thought about wearing polka dot tights to accentuate the buttons on my skirt but opted for stripes to elongate my legs. What do you guys think?

I haven't seen Jody all week (Right now, his new job is causing us to have opposite schedules during the week...boooo) so I am extra excited for the weekend & to spend time together! Hope you all have great weekends!
