Today I'm sharing 3 unique ways to style your military anorak. As we enter days of colder weather, it's time to start thinking about unique ways to layer and style your jackets. We all know an extra layer over jeans and a tee looks great, but it's also an obvious choice. The next time you wear your military jacket, I challenge you to try to a new way of styling it! Read on for some outfit inspiration featuring your military jackets.
1. With Leather Pants - This styling is the trendier sister to a military jacket with jeans. The idea is the same, but black leather pants take the look to the next level. I love this styling with booties, heels or sneakers. No matter the shoe, this pairing creates an edgy, casual look that is one for the books (& the Insta pics) (see how I styled this look in the past)
2. With a Dress - Pairing this casual style jacket over a dress is certainly unexpected! I needed a lightweight extra layer over my long sleeve dress and rather than reaching for my leather jacket as I so often do during the fall, I decided to layer with my cargo jacket. I love that this jacket adds some toughness to a dress and boots and a pop of color to an otherwise gray outfit.
3. As a Top - I love the idea of forgoing this military jacket as a jacket at all and transforming it into a top. Simply button or zipper it up, add some accessories and ta-da, you have a brand new top without having to make a single purchase! I actually used this technique over last spring by pairing a Current and Elliot jacket with white jeans and leopard flats. I loved how this outfit turned out and am not sure why I don't use this styling trick more often...

I'm the same---I don't think of a jacket as a top because....it's a jacket!! But it's a smart move, Michelle.
