When I first heard about Stitch Fix, I was a little hesitant about the idea of letting someone else pick out clothes for me.  How accurate could it really be?  As someone who is extremely type A, I like to be in control of most aspects of my life - including picking out my clothes when shopping.  However, the idea of not having to visit the mall or scroll through endless pages online did appeal to me. 5 items delivered right to my door, in my size & matching my personal style, for me to try on? Sounds like a dream.  So I went ahead, chose my style preferences and ordered my first box.

In case you haven't heard of Stitch Fix before, it is a clothing/accessories subscription site that sends you items based on your size, style & budget.  You take a simple quiz that asks you questions about your personal style, the type of clothing you wear most often and the types of pieces you are interested in. Then just pick a date, and your hand selected items will arrive at your door.  You have 3 days to try everything on - keep what you love & send back what you don't!

Note - there is a $20 styling fee that is attached to each box you order but the fee gets credited towards any items you choose to purchase!  AND if you decide to keep all 5 pieces in your box, you get a 25% discount.  All the more reason to keep the item(s) you love!

Now onto the outfits:

The first two pieces that I opened up were this RD Style Lill chambray dress and these Dolce Vita Amina Woven peep toe booties.  Seeing these items, I knew my box was off to a great start! Both pieces were right up my alley and the booties were by a company that I'm already a fan of: Dolce Vita!  The dress was such a gorgeous chambray and the distressed hem was a nice touch!  I debated back and forth all weekend on whether or not to keep the dress, but I felt that both the dress & shoes were a little bit too big on me (I am wearing size XS in the dress, for reference) and decided that since I already own a denim dress I should send back both.

Next up, I tried on this Moon & Sky Toluca lattice detail blouse.  I paired this top with distressed jeans for a casual look and floral sandals to play up the floral print in the top. I loved the idea of this blouse - the pretty floral print, the cut out shoulders, the sheer sleeves - but when I put it on I decided all 3 elements were a bit too much for me.  I prefer simpler designs & styles so I decided to send this top back as well, however the quality was great and for under $60, if you are looking for a statement, trendy top for the spring/summer, this is a great option.
