I am in Barbados this week! I have been so excited to getaway from NY - I almost forgot what warm weather feels like! (Be sure to follow along on Instagram @michelle_orsi & Snapchat @michelle.orsi for the latest action)  Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever taken a trip where I check my baggage.  I am always somehow able to limit my packing to just one carry on suitcase & a large tote bag. Today, I'm sharing a few packing tips so you can do the same on your next trip!

Plan Your Outfits.  If it was up to me, I would bring my entire closet along on vacation with me.  But since that's not realistic at ALL, I plan ahead with all of my looks. Now, this doesn't always work out perfectly, but I try to think ahead to what we'll be doing during the trip & bring only the items I need for each activity, ie. bathing suits & cover ups for daytime, dresses for dinner at night.  I also bring a couple of casual looks, like a white tee & denim shorts which are super versatile & work for many occasions/activities.

Pick a "color theme."  Planning around a single theme can be tough, but try to keep an open mind about it.  For this trip, I was inspired by my Rebecca Minkoff bag & ended up picking dresses that coordinate with the tassels in the bag.  Another great 'theme' is sticking to neutral shades & using beige, black or white as a base for a majority of your outfits. For me, this trip, I went with sunset shades paired with white & beige/tan. This allowed for much more mixing & matching of each piece that I packed.

Versatility is key.  In order to fit everything into one suitcase, avoid packing pieces that are strictly for one occasion.  Pack items that are versatile and can be worn or restyled more than one way.  Bikini tops & bottoms that can be mixed and matched?  Yes, please. Denim shorts that can be worn to the beach in the morning & out to dinner at night?  A packing must.

Hope these tips will help you for your next trip!
